5-18-2014 -DIY AG Doll Stand

Getting a doll to stand up while you wrap a piece of fabric around them is not easy. Either they like to fall over, or the doll stand gets in the way. Saddle stands make the process a bit easier, as they come up between the dolls legs rather than behind her. In this way, the stand isn't as much in the way as it could be. I, however, do not have a saddle stand for my AG dolls currently. I wish I did, but perhaps in the future. Anyway, I was trying to work with one of my dolls, but the stand kept getting in the way. I had a empty tube from Aluminum foil that I'd kept in hopes of being ablle to use it for something, and I figured out just what I wanted it for.
Picture
Not very impressive, I know... But, it does add a little bit of stability.  I cut the tube in about half (wasn't quite, but close enough). Then the shorter piece I cut in half down the sides. One side I taped to the whole half, and then for stability I cut notches in the second half piece and used it to support the back. I didn't tape it to the rest of the stand though.
Picture
the notches are on both sides of the support piece
The doll is still tippy, but not as bad as she was. And now the stand isn't in the way. I'm not really sure how to make it sturdier, but I'm happy with this until I can get a saddle stand.
