2-5-2014 -Another tank top
A long time ago, I had cut out pieces to make a 10" Ann Estelle dress. Well, at that point I had a rather short attention span (no comment on current condition... lol, but yes, it's gotten better) and I ended up getting bored and setting it aside. A couple weeks ago, I found the pieces again, and had the idea to use them to create a new shirt for my American Girl dolls. It was going to work fine, except it would be a bit too snug in the waist. Around the same time, I had dismantled a stretched out hair scrunchy that had been in my doll stuff forever and had the fabric covering sitting out. I got the idea to use the scrunchy covering to help me make the shirt. So the next few days, when I found time at home, or when we were going to be spending time in town waiting for people (we had one available vehicle and two people with different work schedules...) I'd work on it (so yes, all hand-stitched). I'm rather pleased with the results, although I have the opening in one of the shoulders, and with the lace detailing on the bodice, it makes it kind of difficult to pull up. So I may need to fix that at some point. I also may remove the fake frog clasp, to make it convertible from a two shoulder shirt to a one shoulder shirt. My original plan for this shirt included lace-up sides, but in the end I discarded that idea as it's not too baggy in the middle. I will eventually have a pair of armwarmers (made out of the same fabric as the side panels) and maybe some other accessories to go with this, hopefully sooner than later. I also made matching Lacy Accessories.
