5-18-2014 - Finishing Dollie
I started this doll several years ago, but never finished. The doll itself was complete, but I had never made her an outfit. Originally the plan was to make her a mini wardrobe, but I never got around to it. I finally found her again, with a bunch of fabric scraps (for her clothes) wrapped around her. This time around, I don't plan on making her a wardrobe, so I wrapped a pretty piece of fabric around her, used yarn to secure it, and made a cute little halter dress. I ended up sewing the fabric to the neck strap as the fabric kept pulling away from it, so the dress is probably sewn to her now. Anyway, Kasi likes her, and it worked out good as it can be her 'mini-me'. :)
P.S. Kasi's outfit is just for modesty... the skirt will become a halter top at some point in the future. The vest however is finished. I found it near the dollie. It was sewn at the shoulders and that's it. So I finished the side seams, folded back the front a bit and stitched that down, and called it good. I think it may be from the Magic Attic swim suit pattern, but I'm not sure.
